Mobile Phone Carriers displays the definitions of the email to SMS gateways of the cellular phone carriers the library patrons can use to text information about an item in your library to their cell phones. The "Text it to me" feature requires library patrons to select their mobile phone carrier and enter their phone number to receive the text message. Because each carrier has a different SMS gateway (and some have more than one), and because there are so many carriers in different parts of the world, your library may need to create or edit existing definitions. You can add, edit, and delete mobile carriers, and enable only those carriers you want patrons to be able to select from.

You must have the proper privilege assigned to your account in order to view Mobile Phone Carriers.

Cell phone carriers in some regions (such as Australia) do not provide email-to-SMS gateways as a means of texting to phones on their networks. Because of this, the "Text it to me" functionality does not work in those regions; in those regions it may be possible to find a commercial Email-to-SMS gateway provider, which you could set up as a mobile carrier option for "Text it to me." If you are uncertain about the carriers in your area, check with them and test your implementation to make sure it works as you expect.
